Laplace believes that EMC compliance testing should be a straightforward process, using equipment and software that is easily understood and which delivers results that are easily interpreted. We have developed a range of test systems that achieve these requirements, comprehensive, integrated and cost effective.

Board . Hence, there is growing need to have product compliant for EMI/EMC. You can select from a variety of EMC tests like ESD, EFT, Surge, Ring Wave, PFMF, VDI  Human body model: ±15 kV. EFT/burst immunity (IEC 1000-4-4).

Per this standard EFT bursts are applied in four steps. For level 4, steps 1 and 2 are +/-2kV at 5kHz, and steps 3 and 4 are +/-2kV at 100kHz. For each step, these bursts are applied at 300ms interval for 60 seconds.

EMC is short for ElectroMagnetic Compatibility, which means that a circuit has been designed with this prevention of disruption by shielding. Electromagnetic frequencies can affect many sensitive electronics, and can cause a wide variety of different issues from a simple hiss on a communication line, to a total disruption of a safety-critical EMC or Electromagnetic Compatibility is the ability of an electrical system or device to operate properly in an electromagnetic environment without being affected by EMI, or affecting other devices with EMI within its environment. EMC within electronic components has become an increasingly important issue for embedded designers to contend with. EMI Full-compliance System. Toyo Emission Solution; EMI Products & Accessories.

EFT is a transient EMC immunity test, so the disturbances happen very quickly. To the right is an example of an EFT pulse. For this particular pulse, the voltage risetime is approx 5ns with a pulse width of approximately 50ns. There are other profiles of EFT pulses for different standards but this is the most common for 61000-4-4 compliance.

1) Interference Source of EMC. Main EMI Interference Source: crystal oscillator, switching power supply and electrical machinery; Main EMS Interference Source: tests like electrical surge, Electro Static Discharge (ESD) Testing, Electrical Fast Transient (EFT) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). 2) Frequency EMI/EMC REQUIREMENTS Today, medical devices can be found in the forefront of incor-porating new technologies. This includes the ever-increasing (EFT) as shown in the previous Figure 1. In all circuits, both common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) currents are present. Electromagnetic Compatibility .

The two most common tested interference occurrence are surge (combination wave) and electrical fast transients (EFT). These series of immunity occurrences fall under IEC 61000-4 series of tests (IEC 61000-4-5 & IEC 61000-4-4 respectively).A few major considerations with these type of equipment, the associated test voltage, coupling decoupling network (CDN) , and associated accessories.
